I have fallen in love with Mason jars! They are convenient for my kid's lunches! Especially the small ones that hold salad dressing, ketchup or snacks like nuts. But the best discovery has been how fresh things are after being in a mason jar. I had bought some strawberries from our local fruit market. I put some in mason jars and left the others in their plastic container. After several days, the ones in the mason jars were still fresh and bright color. The others were turning dark and rotten.
My other fun discovery is having a cute way to display my dried goods in my pantry. They stay fresher but make my pantry look organized.
When I was looking for these canning jars, I couldn't find them that easy. I was directed to search the grocery stores and Target. When I arrived I found the shelves were practically bare. It took some time, but I located enough to start storing my food properly.
